Day 1: Arrival at Wild Mahseer via Misa Polo Club

Sprawled like a prehistoric leviathan along the length of the Brahmaputra valley, Assam (also known as Ahom) is the biggest and most accessible of the Northeast States Drive to Addabarie Tea Estate in Balipara, Sonitpur district through quaint towns and villages. Halfway through the journey, take delight in a scrumptious meal at Misa Polo Club (3.5 hours) Get transported to a different era gone by, surrounded by history of tea; how it was grown, harvested, transported to tea factories, manufactured, packed and dispatched towards its destination. One could also enjoy a game of golf at Misa Polo Club. After a sumptuous lunch, leave for The Eastern Himalayan Botanic Ark in residence at Wild Mahseer The Eastern Himalayan Botanic Ark in Residence at Wild Mahseer is a nature inspired heritage living within the biodiverse haven of exotic flowers, plants, birds and butterflies of the Eastern Himalayas that has been tended to and flourished through the passion and knowledge of the Communities that live around the Ark.

Day 2: Christmas Eve Specials – Visit Nameri National Park or Kaziranga National Park


Drive to Kaziranga National Park (2hrs), a world heritage forest full of variety of flora and fauna and wild life, home to the famous tiger, one horned rhinoceros and other wild life inhabitants of this National Park.
The early morning elephant safari is an experience to remember and cherish for the rest of your life. Kaziranga, with its diverse habitats ranging from floodplains and grasslands to evergreen forests, is ideal for herbivores and therefore, carnivores. Most visitors, predictably, come to see the ‘big five’ – elephant, rhino, tiger, swamp deer and buffalo.
Or experience Peace with Nature floating down the river in serene surroundings at Nameri National Park (30 mins drive)
Leave for Nameri National Park early in the morning for a trek through the forest where one can witness over 300 species of birds. The white winged wood duck survived a dangerous period when it was on the verge of extinction. The story of how it was reared, survived and released in the forest celebrates the tenacity of dedicated birders. River Rafting on the Jia Bhoroli is one of the most relaxing and tranquil experiences in the country.

Day 3: Communities at the Eastern Himalayan Botanic Ark

A visit to one of the homestays in Sonitpur district is a must! There is a large variety of local food available, prepared and served locally in beautiful natural surroundings. Choices can be made from Nepali, Garo, Mishing, Nyishi and Bodo cuisine. All these ethnic communities provide their own form of activities like weaving, organic dye demonstrations, home garden tour, cooking class and so much more!
